Doran Cray designed the overall masterplan, which envisioned a community that can adapt and grow with the changing needs of its residents and encouraging innovative design solutions to the provision of density in a mixture of typologies and bedroom sizes whilst providing high quality living environments, a strong sense of place and liveable pedestrian priority streets.

The masterplan sought to create an attractive, sustainable and vibrant community that supports a move away from car dependency towards more sustainable modes of transport. This includes high walking and cycling permeability offering direct routes to local destinations and public transport stops.

The intention was to produce an exemplary environment; a place that is desirable to live and one which balances usable private space within an overall structure of high-quality public spaces.
